Kubernetes Series - CKA
Introduction
The Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA) certification is designed for individuals who have a strong understanding of Kubernetes and have the skills needed to deploy, maintain, and troubleshoot Kubernetes clusters. The CKA certification is offered by the Cloud Native Computing Foundation (CNCF) and is recognized as a valuable credential for DevOps engineers, cloud administrators, and other IT professionals working with Kubernetes.
About Exam
- The test can be taken offline or online with a camera supervisor.
- It duration is 120 minutes with a number of questions ranging from 17-25 questions, each question has a different weight (ranging from 4% to 13% for each question) depending on the level of difficulty.
- Each question is a request to practice according to one or more different ideas, and the correct level will be graded.
- The exam environment will provide you with a remote session to a virtual machine with Ubuntu installed, on which you are allowed to turn on the terminal to perform the main task of solving the exam requirements + have a Firefox session to look up information from the source. allow (kubernetes.io)
- To get a certificate you need to achieve a minimum of 66%/100% and the certificate is valid for 3 years. After 3 years you will need to take an exam to renew your Cert
My Experience
In this exam it will not be too difficult to pass if you know about it. The following are things you need to keep in mind to crack it.
- Device :
- OS: It must use a personal computer (Linux OS will not support to take the exam).
- Monitor: As my thought, 27 inch monitor is the best for you perfomance (Only allow 1 monitor).
- Camera : You need a camera & micro to pass the PSI (this is a software that you use to take a exam) check.
- Keyboard & Mouse : A wired device.
- Checking before taking exam :
You must enter the exam 30 minutes earlier than the time you registered for checking process. At this step, Government ID is used to determine if it is you or not. I prefer use a function QR code by using your phone to upload this because the picture will be clear and have a best quality. It won't cost you time to authenticate your identity.
- Practicing on the exam:
- For me, you don't need set any alias to able get a good performance. It will waste your time.
- Alias k = "kubectl" had already set for this exam. This enough, bro.
- Must be enter the right context when you reach a new question. The wrong context, the zero point you get.
- Cross check after you finished each question. It help you save your time than you completed all question & check.
- If you get in stuck in a question, please flag it and go to the other question.
Studying Assets
I put this section last because I believe this order is more effective than putting it first. We have so many courses for learning about CKA exam. To be honest, you just need to get one for passing the exam. This is CKA Certification Course – Certified Kubernetes Administrator on KodeCloud. On this course, you will learn all thing about this exam and able to access an integrated practice lab which the thing i love it. Beside taking this, reading a documentation also an important thing. You will probably find it strange that the test is practical, but I mentioned reading the material carefully 🤔.
Simply put, when you understand the theory of it, you will do it faster.
Time is limited 😁
One more thing, when you registered the exam. Killer.sh can give you access twice. Truth be told, I never did those two attempts. As many reviews on google, it harder so much than the real exam. I think it's not so necessary. You can take it or not.
